The Colonial Heights neighborhood, is walking distance to dining places, coffee shops, grocery stores, and a gym. We are on the urban edge, which can be noisy at times. But, if you walk down our tree-lined street, away from the commerce, the area becomes more tranquil. Guests find that the insulated room is much quieter inside, and they appreciate the convenience of a washer/dryer for their own use.

About this space

The space

* A new washer/ dryer unit has been installed for your exclusive use!
1. Cozy bedroom, includes a queen-sized bed, desk, large office chair, wall mounted flat-screen tv, and extra bedding and pillows. There is also a mini-split a/c with heat. There is NOT kitchen access, but the room includes a small fridge, microwave, and Keurig pod coffee maker.
2. Private bathroom. With toilet, sink, shower, and cabinets, plus extra towels, and a blow dryer.
3. Good-sized closet, with a lot of hangers, a portable ironing board, and iron, clothes hamper, and a dresser.
4. Alcove area next to closet is where the brand new washer/dryer has been installed.

Guest access

Separate private entrance is accessed through a locked gate which takes you into your own exclusive patio area, then through a locked door into the bedroom. You will have access to one parking space in the driveway, the private patio, bedroom, and bath. The bedroom, with private entrance, is attached to the house that we live in. We share a wall, with doors that are locked from both sides. Our kitchen, backyard, and other living spaces ARE NOT shared. This allows for privacy for us, and for you.

Other things to note

The room is well equipped for mid-length stays, for one (or two people sharing a bed), on a month-to-month basis, for up to 4 months.
After every guest, the entire space goes through an enhanced cleaning process. All bedding, including the mattress pad, pillow protectors, and bedspread are removed and washed. All towels, and bath rugs as well. Hard surfaces are cleaned with disinfectant cleaner, including the light switches!
Amenities that are walking distance include grocery stores, ice-cream shop, coffee shops, places to eat, a gym, and the library. Bus stops are a block away, and if you have a car, you can park it in our driveway (off-street parking).

Neighborhood highlights
We are located on a pretty tree-lined street, in an urban setting, off of a busy road, in Sacramento. The neighborhood is Colonial Heights, and the area is also named Little Saigon, for the abundance of Vietnamese restaurants nearby. Our home is near many amenities, and most are walking distance. This includes a laundromat, grocery stores, ice-cream shop, coffee shops, places to eat, a gym, and the library.
Getting around
Bus stops are a block away, and if you have a car, you can park it in our driveway (off-street parking). Uber and Lyft are active in the area as well.

*A photo ID may be required to complete the booking approval by the host. A term lease will be required for stays of 1 month or more.
*Gate, Door, and Window Safety: Because this is an urban setting, near a busy boulevard, keep unintended visitors out by closing and locking the gate and door when you enter the property. Also, make sure the gate, door, and window, are closed, and locked, when you leave.
*Visitors: You are welcome to have temporary visitors during your stay, but please let us know in advance, so that we are aware of temporary guests. Only the registered guest should be staying overnight.
*A/C and Heat Settings: During the warm months, when you leave for the day, or evening, please set the a/c temperature on the mini-split system to 76 degrees. The room can quickly be cooled down when you return.
During cool months, when gone for the day or evening please don't leave the heat above 68-70 degrees.
*Alarms and Door Sensors: The smoke alarms, and carbon monoxide alarm, are for your safety, as well as the door sensor. Do not remove or dismantle these items.

Check under the bed, desk, and dresser for anything of yours that may have wandered out of site during your stay. If you feel like tidying up, go for it. Otherwise, relax, we'll taken care of the cleaning for you. Please turn off the mini-split AC/heater. Make sure the window is closed and locked, and that the door and gate lock behind you. Safe travels!
