About this space

Beat the heat in this cool, Colonial Heights, 2-bedroom basement home. Your private room includes a keyless lock, queen sized bed, dresser, closet, smart TV, and portable tower fan. The shared spaces include the bathroom, full kitchen with a dishwasher, and living and eating areas. Enjoy curated furnishings and local art. Luxe curtains, recessed lighting, lamps, and flameless candles create a custom experience. Set the thermostat to your most comfortable temperature then relax after a long day

The space

This is a completely finished two-bedroom basement home, with a private entrance, located beneath the primary home. Even though it is well insulated, you still might hear the sounds of those living above, similar to a condominium. This is a generally quiet neighborhood, yet conveniently located near hospitals (UCD, Shriners), coffee shops, eateries, grocery stores, and a Planet Fitness Gym. It also a short drive into Downtown Sacramento, and Midtown where there a lots of great restaurants, art galleries, theatres, and cute shops, and more hospitals.

Your bedroom rental includes one parking space for your vehicle in the lot. There are blinds on the small windows.

The second bedroom is for a guest renting separately, and that room will remain locked, even if it is vacant. Minimum stays are for 1 month, so you do not have to worry about sharing the common spaces with different people every week.

The rest of the basement home is shared with that guest, and the outdoor spaces are shared with others in the complex (two buildings, each with two units).

There may be times that you will have the whole place to yourself, in between guests. Keep in mind that I will be cleaning each bedroom as guests check out, but will provide a minimum of 24 hour notice, and will coordinate with you.

This rental is best for one person travelling alone for work, who can adapt to shared spaces, and who can share the responsibilities of keeping those spaces clean and uncluttered.

Enter the Sanctuary

You will enter the basement home through a separate private entrance at the back of the main home, then proceed down the interior stairs, to your living space.
The entire basement home is accessible, including the storage closets, but not the other guest's room, even if vacant.
You will have a separate code for the front door, and for your room.  T
his is a basement home; there are about 10 carpeted stairs down into the unit.

Additional rules

After the property is reserved, you will be expected to provide a photo ID to the host. You might have already provided this information, however they do not share photo ID's with us hosts. For reservations of 30 days, or more, a lease will need to be signed for the reservation period (term lease). This provides greater security for the property owner/manager, as well as the guest (tenant). *Health and Safety: Be sure the front door is locked when you leave, and the window in the entryway is locked. No burning of candles (open flames), or other products. All the candles in the home are flameless (battery operated). No smoking or vaping of tobacco, or other products on premises. Only flush toilet paper down the toilet. The plumbing is sensitive and anything other than t.p will clog the pump, and make for a stinky, and costly repair, which you may be responsible for. Tampering with safety devices, such as the fire suppression sprinkler system, smoke detectors, and/or carbon monoxide detectors is forbidden . Do not remove or dismantle these items. *Visitors: As a courtesy to the other guest, if you are going to have a visitor, please give them advanced notice. No overnight guests, or parties. Also, be mindful of the tenants upstairs. Visitors are not allowed to park in the lot. You are provided with one (1) designated parking space in the lot, however there is free street parking. *A/C and Heat Settings: During the warm months, when you leave for the day, or evening, please set the a/c temperature on the mini-split system to 76 degrees. The rooms can quickly be cooled down when you return. During cool months, when gone for the day or evening please don't leave the heat above 68 degrees. * Furniture and Art: These items are for your use and/or enjoyment. Do not move or remove these items. If you need something moved, please let us know, and we will promptly address the issue.
